Hello Fusion Community,
I have trouble with drawing plans from Imported files. i imported STEP-Files of bent sheetmetal parts, which worked well. but some of the features dont work properly:
all bends are 90 degrees, the edge shape only consists of circular and straight parts. but some of the edge lines are interconnected, there are no 'straight' or 'circular' parts. it looks like a spline, but if i apply the curvature tool, i can see that the curves aren't continuous (= no spline). it also indicates the switch between straight and circular, but i cant snap to that point. if i look at a clearance cutout slot for a mounting screw on the edge in the sheetmetal, i cant measure, the radius of the cutout. but if i look in direction of the plane of the sheetmetal, i can measure the gap width (= the diameter). same in drawing. there are barely any snapping points. no chance of making decent drawings.
so the snap points are somewhat there, but at the same time they are not. do i have to redraw all those parts as solids? maybe import them as a different type? i have no part history, and i was unable to break open some of these interlinked edge curves.
i hope you guys and gals get my problem. thanks for your help.
