Cannot thicken a faceted surface

Hey guys, I'm making an object and want it to have the low poly effect without converting it to a mesh. I've followed these instructions from a previous forum post: Screen Shot 2022-04-07 at 3.08.32 pm.png

I am now stuck because it's not letting me thicken my surface. They are all yellow and facing the same direction. FiScreen Shot 2022-04-07 at 3.55.47 pm.pngFile is attached.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @sammymoz,

There are some fix that has to be done for the geometry before thicken

  1. The Surface is not created properly, See below image.

  2.  We can reverse the normal using "Reverse Normal" command
Invoke the command, Box select all the surfaces, OK

  3. There is duplicate surface, overlapping eachother

The topology of you T-Spline is not OK.

Error message shall not be ignored.

You have self intersection in the T-Spline that need to be removed.

Then you also have an N-gon in the mesh, which when patched also can create problems.

If you fix the above, you can crease all edges and don't need the patch tool.

Then it can also be shelled.
