Cannot open because upload failed?

I was working on a design, and needed to restart my computer to install some software.  I saved a version and quit fusion.  It prompted to wait for upload to finish, I chose not to wait.

When I restarted, if I try to open the design I get a message saying "The file you are trying to open is currently being saved by User Christopher Mason [That's me.] Do you want to open a previous version?"

Another thread suggested going offline, however when I try that I get this message about an upload in progress:

I also got this message saying that the Upload failed:

Should I just open an old version (probably wouldn't loose much)?

Is there a window/dialog where I can view the progress of uploads?

Thanks,

Ok, I just restarted fusion again and it was able to open the design. Maybe I just needed to wait a bit? That said, I'd still like to know if I can see uploads somewhere?

cjmason,

Thank you for the update.

Generally, during upload you will see the following dialog box:

Fusion Upload Progress.png

Are you not seeing this?

If not can you please let me know what your Fusion 360 workflow was prior to rebooting?

Thank you.

Hi Bob,

To be clear: should I expect that dialog in the Fusion 360 client, or in A360 website or ...?  I don't believe I've ever seen that.  Does it pop up on save?  Maybe I minimized it long ago?

Thanks for the response,

cjmason,

The progress that I posted earlier is for uploading new data and not a save.

If you are saving a new version, your will not see that progress bar.

You will see a light grey spinning wheel in your Data Panel.

This indicates that it is saving.

It is best to wait for this to finish (uploading new version to the cloud) before exiting the application.

As you noted, if you do not wait, it will queue the save for the next time you login and attempt to finish the save.

It is always the best practice to allow the application the time needed to save your data.

Thank you.
