Cannot modify sweep body through time line

Hi,

I have created elements like the one shown below, by

1) creating an ellipse sketch

2) creating a closed path to sweep along

3) executing Sweep command on these two elements

Now, I would expect that I can go back in the timeline, adjust either the shape profile or the path sketch, which would in turn adjust the sweep body accordingly. However, it stays unchanged, so I would have to create a new sweep based on the adjusted elements.

Is that the way this is supposed to function? Why?

That can get quite tedious further down the time line.

Thanks for feedback, regards

Willy

Hi @wpillinger,

Can you please make a screencast of the behavior you're seeing? The sweep body should update as you expect if you roll back and change the profile, the path, or both. (Instructions for screencast if you need them)

I totally eludes me how often we have to ask this!

Everyone posting on this forum sits in front of a computer screen, likey staring at their design, but then don't have the presence of mind to share at the very least a screenshot or exporting and attaching their design.

Unfortunately, nothing you do with a tspline will be parametric.  If you sweep in either patch space or model space it will be have the way you expect it to.
