Cannot Develop Sheetmetal Flat Pattern

Hi all,

Hopefully someone can help with this one. Basically I can't seem to get a sheet metal flat pattern of this part.

It keeps coming up with an error when the last extruded cut feature is unsuppressed, and when the last patterned cut is also unsuppressed. However if you suppress these it will keep the cut that drives the last pattern. I have done parts like this before and never had a problem so not sure what is different this time.

Thanks in advance.

@sepurves

Do you need these cut features in the folded model, or would it be OK for your needs to add only to the Flat Pattern?

Edit If I move the cut up just a tiny bit from the Bend then I don't get an error.

Change your last two Extrusions to Embosses, with the same parameters, you will not get the error.  Model is attached.

Okay thanks, I might try this tactic to. The emboss tool seems to work fine as mentioned below.

Thank you that worked perfectly! They are just laser etch lines for use as a guide when assembling. Do you happen to know of a way I can create them as a single line? They never seem to show on the dxf unless you re-create a sketch inside the flat pattern and export that instead.

Many thanks.

You could probably create a single line sketch and then use the Thin Extrude command to cut them.  This command can do the same depth and width of cut from a single line.  Avoids all the creation of profiles.  I did not try it but it should work the same.
