Can you edit a part designed in model in sculpt mode and vice versa?

Hi Guys I've been using Fusion for a while now and haven't yet wrapped my head around this concept. I have two scenarios I'll pose to you and please if you can answer them I'd appreciate it, or if you can point me in the right direction. I can't seem to find any info on this.

First so i modeled a shower head part in model mode but I wanted to flatten an area and stretch it around. I tried going into sculpt mode but the model is completely grayed out. Is there a way to convert the modeled part so it is editable in sculpt mode?

Second I modeled the same part in sculpt mode but I need threads modeled into the end of the pipe. When I switch back into model mode it won't let me use the thread command in the same spot that it works in the model mode.  Apparently it doesn't detect any faces?

So long story short is there a way to model a part in sculpt and add threads to it in model mode or model a part with threads and tweak it in sculpt mode? I seem to be missing how the workflow works regarding this.

Thanks in advance.

@suade907FG7QH,

I will start with your question about adding threads to a TSplines driven brep.  Fusion 360 does not allow you to put threads on solids that come from T-Splies because they can't be modified by editing them from the timeline.  A good example why not, imagine if you make a cylinder in T-Splines, then convert to solid, add threads and then edit the cylinder in T-Splines to change the shape.  What would happen to the threads?  This is why I am suggesting you make your model and then extrude a cylinder (use join) and then add threads.  I you can share an image of what you are trying to do I would be happy to make a video showing the process.  Also there is a convert feature in sculpt under modify that allows you to change a solid into a T-Spline.  The converted model will not match exactaly due to the difference in how we define curves between the two methods.

Cheers,

Thank you Promm for getting back to me. I'd love to see a video of both ways. I don't have a final design but I'd be happy to cut off a small part of it and share it with you. Either way all I'm making is a tube for a shower head with a 1/2" NPT thread size on one end and the other end I've been playing around with using sculpt. If you could show me how to extrude and sculpt the right end of this or sculpt a new similar tube and put similar threads on the thread end in model I'd appreciate it. I have tried converting the right end and sculpting it but it doesn't look like the tube where the sculpt begins and the model ends lines up correctly. I am probably going about this all wrong though. Here is a link to my model. I'm not sure how to add it otherwise. http://a360.co/2dHuZPF Thanks in advance.
