Can't use any of the Appearances

Hello,

I am currently working on a futuristic steering  wheel and I am at the point where I need to add colours and visual properties to it. However, I am unable to select any of the Appearances in the library. I tried selecting only bodies or only faces but still nothing helps. When I drag  and drop the chosen colour nothing happens, not even an error message. I copied the file a few times and have re booted my machine a few times in expectation of any change but with no luck.

Any ideas ?

Kind Regards ,

Martin

Can you try this with a simple cube?

If it doesn't work with the cube, can you attach the *.f3d file here?

Hi,

I created a new design and made a simple cylinder there which I tried to put an Appearance on on but still with no success. I am attaching the .f3d file of the steering wheel.

Kind regards,

Two things come to mind -

1. Is there a download arrow next to the appearance texture?  (see image below)

Have you clicked on that arrow and brought the texture into the design?

(Also, do you have the radio button selected for Body or for Faces (see top of image)?)

2. There is a little red Record button in upper right corner of your screen.  Can you record your steps and attach the recording here?

very strange, indeed.  There is nothing wrong with your model, I can apply appearances just fine, to bodies or faces:

There are no strange appearance overrides on your model.  So, it must be something with your environment.  I assume you have tried shutting down Fusion and restarting?  It doesn't look like you have component color cycling turned on, that can affect appearances.

I'll ask around to see if anyone has ever seen anything like this before...

Hi,

The problem fixed itself. I tried switching to multiple views and then colouring the wheel and it worked. After that I was able to put it back into sing view mode and colour it as well.

Kind Regards
