Can't Sketch on Face

Hello Guys

I'm designing a wheelhouse for a model i'm working on, but I cant seem to sketch on this face.

I constructed the sloping sides of the wheelhouse using a loft in the patch mode, then thickened it. I've been able to sketch on all the other faces but not this one.

Any suggestions as whats going on here?

Cheers

Martin

Hi,

Neat model.

It's possible that face is not planar. Can you try something for me? Go to Inspect, use Curvature Map and apply it to that face. Is the result multi-colored? You may need to adjust the scale.

Another check would be attempting Curvature Comb analysis on the edges of the body. If the edge line is perfectly straight, Fusion will not consider it valid for Curvature analysis and thus not select it at all.

Please let me know what happens. If needed I'll be happy to look at the model.

Thanks,

Hello Phil

Thank you for the reply earlier. I did what you said and applied the Curvature Comb, and yip it showed up on the edges. So I went back into the original sketch prior to lofting and applied a few

sketch constraints to ensure all lines on the loft sketch were parallel to each other and now were back in business.

I'm still fairly new to fusion and this project along with designing the hull for my model trawler has taught me an immense about fusion, however still making silly mistakes...

Thanks agin for your help

Best wishes

Martin

You're welcome! Glad I could help. You'll have to show us renderings when it's ready.

Hey,

I am facing the exact problem as our friend here did.

I did both things you asked to do.

While doing Curvature Map, the model was of same colour and in Curvature comb it did not selected the edges.

What to do?

my model is a simple cuboid but with very slight variability in the edges.

All the faces are sketchable except the bottom one.

I lofted the 2 faces to form the cuboid like shape.
