Can't Rename Projects

Anonymous
Not applicable

I was able to rename projects with no problems up until about a week or two ago. Now when I try, in either Fusion 360 or A360, I get a message that says "Sorry, The operation you requested couldn't be performed." Are there any fixes or resets that will allow me to rename projects again? I appreciate any suggestions or help. Thanks!

Hello,

I am reaching out to some of our teams right now to investigate this.  I am seeing similar issues with a couple of my projects, but not all of them.  I will try and get back to you when I hear more.

Cheers,

Hi Scott,

I can't reproduce this. Did you create all the projects that you are trying to rename or did someone else create it and invite you?

Can you include a screenshot of the error showing the project you are trying to rename?

Thanks,

Bankim

The project that I'm trying to rename is the one that was created for me when I first subscribe to Fusion 360. I believe is was called My First Project. I've successfully renamed it a couple of times as needed but now I can't. I can get you some screenshots of the error later today. Thanks for your help!

Hi Scott,

Would you be able or willing to add me to one of the projects that your having problems renaming?  We have some people looking in on my account right now to see what is happening, but I want to have them confirm that we are seeing the same issue with your account as well.

You can add me from the people menu in the data panel, my email is shown below in the signature.

Cheers,

Hello Joel

I tried to invite you to the project that I'm having trouble renaming in both Fusion 360 and A360 and I received the error message "Operation failed." or "Invitations failed." respectively. Now I'm really concerned on what's going on within my projects. Please keep me updated as you continue your investigation.

Thanks!

Scott

Scott,

Thanks for trying that for me, the team is actively investigating what is happening right now.  I will add the fact that you can't invite someone to your project, so there is some additional things happening here.

Can you do me a favor and go to the help menu and choose Diagnostic Log Files.  This will create a zip that contains all of your diagnostics, if you can add that here or send that to me that should also give us some more information to investigate.

Outside of unable to rename projects or invite other users, are you seeing any other issues with your data or projects?  I am not suspecting any problems with it, but want to make sure that we are capturing everything that is being seen.

Cheers,

Hello Joel

I just emailed you the Diagnostic Log Files. As of now I'm not seeing any other issues with my data or projects...I'm able to upload files and create and save new designs with no problems. Thanks for your continuing help!

Hey Joel

Here's an update on another issue I've discovered as I continue to look at the problem. While working within the project that I can't rename, I can rename folders but I can not rename files. I get a "Rename is unavailable" message. All other operations...open, delete, move, and copy...seem to work. Thanks!
