Can't fillet this edge.

I know plenty of other folks have had fillet trouble on here, but I none of the posts I've seen have helped me.

All I want to do is fillet the edges of this curved interior shape on this door. I created the shape first by lofting two profiles, then subtracting that lofted object from the main door object. Trying to fillet the edges gives me the size error. I don't get it. Should I have gone about cutting this shape in a different way? Thanks for any advice.

Have you tried a smaller radius, measure the radius in the corners of the pocket and try a radius a bit smaller. If that doesn't work can you export and attach the file.

Edit save the file as an f3d if you export.

I just experimented with a loft like yours and using a tapered extrude and cut. I made the loft with a 1mm corner and the fillet failed at anything above 1mm, using an extrude I could add quite large fillets OK. If you want to try and extrude cut make the pocket with sharp corners add fillets to the internal corners first then the face.

Here's an example of the difference, loft on the left with the biggest rad fillet would allow.

I can only make up to  a .5mm fillet (which looks like the attached image). I was expecting to be able to make a larger one than that, and also didn't expect it to look so uneven.

ok, I'll try the tapered extrude. I'm totally new - didn't even realize you could do that.

You might get better results if you left the corners sharp on the loft then added all the fillets in one go.
