Can't extrude face with radius

Hi,
I'm new to Fusion...
I want to extrude a face which has a radius but when I select the extrude tool I can't select this face, the tool works with the other plane faces with no issue, is that normal and is there a workaround ?

Many thanks for your help !

Not a pro by any means but I believe extrude only allows selection  of planar profiles. I think "offset face" from the modify menu is what will get this done.

Thanks a lot for you reply.
Unfortunately offset face moves the all body, I guess my model is wrong...
I inserted a stl file and generated a body from it so that might be the issue.
I want to extrude only the curved face but don't want to modify the top and bottom angles.

Look what happens using offset face.

Thanks a lot for your reply !
I followed your video and created a new body, but this doesn't solve my issue, with the new body I still can't extrude the curved face ?

Hi,

1. @evanp4509U4JZ  has already said that you can only extrude planar profiles.
2. from your screencast I can't see what the end result should be.
3. please create a screenshot and sketch the desired change

I'm not sure I really understand what it is you want to achieve. Are either of these like your desired result?

or are you wanting to lengthen the part like this:

Or something else?

In the video I show you how to offset the curved surface using the Surface tools.  At the end of the video I remove the fillets, offset both surfaces and then join them back with the fillets.

Thank you all for your fast and nice support and sorry if I haven't been clear enough.
My goal is to cut a small amount of the surface excluding the top and bottom borders to be able to place leather onece 3d printed.
In the video I posted it's what I'm able to do on a flat surface (beginning of the video) but can't achieve on the curved face (I understood it's not possible to extrude curved faces but was wondering if there is a workaround).
Here is what I did on the flat surface :

This was done with the "Emboss" tool.

EDIT:

Or maybe this is better?

The process I showed could be reversed.  Instead of offsetting the surface out, you can do it in and when using the Thicken command use Cut instead of Joint.

I created a new plane and sketch like this:

Then used emboss. Of course, the sketch doesn't need to be a simple rectangle, you could make it a more visually interesting shape if you wanted.

I've attached the f3d so you can see how I did it.

Hi,

if you want it to be like @MRWakefield  showed it in his post, you can also do it with a simple extrusion.
