Can't explode text

Hey all,  I am trying to explode text to create solid bodies to machine. The font is called Ironick-Normal.  This text wasn't in Fusion so I downloaded it, converted to an OTF then added it to my fonts, all which worked fine.

I saw a solution this morning using a different program to generate an (I believe) SVG then inserting that.  My problem is that about a month ago when I first added the text to Fusion I was able to explode the text and subsequently extrude the lettering, no problems.  This morning I went back to this project and wanted to change my scaling and the text itself and now I can't explode the text. As far as I know nothing has changed since I first added the text to Fusion.

With Fusion updating as frequently as it does, is there something that could have happened not allowing me to explode the text now?

Thanks for any help.

Hi @JHarknessX8ZAF

Can you check if below article works for you?

Unable to explode or extrude text in custom fonts in Fusion 360

@dsouzasujay I did try that, Fusion won't recognize that text in TTF form, I can only get it to appear in the text selection in Fusion as an OTF in my fonts file.

Hi,

If this is the case, you only have to try to create the text in a vector graphic application and import it into Fusion as SVG/DXF. Changes in Fusion are then only possible via scaling.

@g-andresen Why would this have changed? As I said I was originally able to explode this text and then extrude it.

I can't tell you that.
When I need a solution right now, I look for alternatives.

The results seem to vary depending on the type of installation.

I was able to explode after re-installing this file.

I think it is worth a try.

@Bunga777 Do you have a link for where you got that font from? I have tried a few other downloads with the same results I got before. I also seem to not be able to use TTF, Fusion only recognizes the font when I add it as an OTF, unless i'm adding it wrong.

Huzzah! After adding the TTF to the font folder I had been restarting Fusion, which wouldn't work.  A restart of my PC and I can now explode the text! Thanks for all the help and I'll double check my own stupidity in the future.
