Can't Duplicate Balloon Numbers ?

simple, manually place one. and change the number. But as with many things fusion it seems no.

Auto numbering of parts is just silly I tried once but my projects are to complicated. I don't want a line item for 20 screws. It seems you can't place a duplicate number on a balloon even though I have two identical parts.

I will be happy to  make my own BOM spread sheet. But I am Sending this to Be CNC cut and some parts are identical so it would be professional if I could list the identical parts  in a balloon with the same part number.

But fusion seems to want to force what numbers it thinks is correct. and It is WRONG. Once I try to renumber it will change the number in the balloon of another part.  Is there a manual way to set balloon numbers with duplicates? 

or once again am I forced to do something I don't want to do because fusion can't?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Please note the balloon number for multiple instances of same components will be same in the drawing. So in your case, if the 20 screws are 20 instances of same 1 screw component, the balloon number will be same for all. And in this case, we will get only one row entry in the parts list.

We can not have same number for 2 different components in the drawing.

The 20 Screws I mentioned was shorthand. My projects in general have been too complex to take advantage of the Parts list feature.

In this case I wanted to manually number a component because even though it was "copied" it did not identify as the same component. Once again fusion has decided it knows better.

You can change the number's of each Balloon.. And Re-Number them... And also Align them as you want..

The part list will consider 2 different components if they are not the instance of same component.

If you are using Copy-Paste option in modelling to create same component,

- If you use Copy-Paste- it will create another instance of same component. In this case, all your components will have same balloon numbers.

- If you use Copy-Paste New- it will create different component. In this case, all your components will have different balloon numbers.

Ah ha and here is the rub. If I had done copy paste any edits on the first component would be reflected on the other. Since this is two sides I did copy paste new as I would want to possibly mirror the counter sink.  The company requested I not counter sink so they wound up identical. I wanted to create an assembly drawing with balloons.

This is the only place this method caused a problem. and it was way too late to go back and start mucking with my assembly with joints etc hence the desire to change the number in the balloon.
