Can someone please help with a 2d sketch

Hi I am relatively new to Fusion360.

I am designing a new chair, and have been trying to work on a frame.

I can create a 2-dimensional outline on one plane (X-Z) but cannot tie it to go around to another plane (X-Y)

Essentially it is a cantilever type of frame, I want to create half of it then mirror it later.

...or better yet,

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Have you tried creating the sketch line in the present sketch plane and then using the copy/move command to set the X,Y,Z offsets to move it out into 3D space?

I struggled with this as well because if you are very careful you can continue a line in 3D by moving the mouse until you get the angle you want and if close enough it will snap to a right angle.

Also make sure 3D sketch is turned on in the Sketch Pallet pull out (panel or whatever they call it).

Then you should be able to rotate the view using the cube in the upper tight corner and pull a line out into a different plane 3D.

I can't do a screen cast right now but I will later if I can.

Good Luck

JC

I was able to manipulate the drawing by ticking the 3D sketch box and turning the plane around to a 3 dimensional view. That worked!

Thank you!

When doing 3D sketching you have to have the view cube on a angle for it to work properly as properly as it is, then it does work most times
