Hi,
I received a STP file with a model of a washing machine. My job is to get it to make it work with Unity engine. It boils down to getting rid of the elements that won't be seen and unwrapping the rest so it could be textured.
I have spent two days on experimenting with different workflows using Fusion, Meshmixer and Remake. Fusion seems to be the best option for now. However there's still one issue I'd love to figure out:
How to get rid of elements like these:
Many of the bodies have on their inner sides extra bolts, joints and other features. I don't need them as I won't look inside the model, so I'd like to get rid of them to reduce the geometry.
When I select these elements and try to delete them I get an error that the model could not be healed or other constraints cause the action to fail. Pardon my terminology I don't work in the CAM/CAD industry. I'm a 3D artist in a app development team.
Is there a way of removing these elements? I can remove them after importing to 3ds Max but for other reasons it would be great if I could do that in Fusion, before the export.
The STP file is from production team of the client of the client - so reasonable direct communication won't be possible.
Cheers,
Stan
