Building THIS in Fusion 360 ?!

Dear Fusion 360 community,

Ben here, a Fusion 360 newbie. I use the application since August this year and I’m absolutely amazed by what you can do with it!

What’s the best way to learn a new software? Right! By starting a little project. For this reason I'm rebuilding a pretty crazy World War II vehicle (unarmed):

The Saurer RK-7. It was able to switch between track- and wheel drive. The chassis is almost complete, the body will follow next.

I’m not only modeling this beast, I’m also documenting the process on my Youtube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/3dgladiator)

Let me know if you have any questions. I’m happy about every feedback and suggestions.

Have a great and creative day!

Best,

Ben

The timeline in your design has a single colored bar. That would mean all components are at the top-level and there's no sub-assembly structure. With the assembly growing, that will make navigating the assembly pretty cumbersome.

Maybe something to consider for the next project. Fuson 360 abilities to reorganize assemblies after the fact are pretty dismal (as long as the timeline is enabled).

Hello Peter,

thank you very much for your comment and your very valuable input!

The design you see on the screenshots only contains imported/referring components, I haven't drawn anything in this scene and use it only to assembly the vehicle. The single parts consist of many different components so that I was able to use joints to link everything together properly.

Have a great and creative week.

Best,

Ben
