title says it all, when you try to edit a text objects properties you have to zoom in to be able to to that, if you're zoomed out too much instead of the edit dialog box some sort of constrains are added to the text object instead.

i've been playing around with this and can't find any logic to this behaviour but maybe it's a feature i don't understand ?

see screencast ...

It looks like there is just too much under your cursor. If you linger on the right click for a second, you should get a menu of the items below your cursor.

Check out the tip in the below blog post.

http://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/blog/tip-tuesday-using-select-other-to-make-selections-e...

Once you select the Sketch Text in the "select other" list, you should be able to right click and select edit.

I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Hi Nathan,

i'm not sure what you mean, there isn't much at all under my cursor except a single item. I really don't understand this behaviour, it should be easily possible to go into text edit mode by double clicking just like how it works when zoomed in. I can't see any benefit of constraints being added when double clicking. Yes i could: hold the mouse .. get a list of the only item there, select it, right click again, choose edit .. but come on, double clicking is way easier, faster and works already sort of.

It may not seem like there is much under the cursor, but there is the text box and the text itself. Additionally, there could be sketch constraints in some cases. If select other command is too cumbersome, zooming in closer can help make the selection easier too. At 0:17 seconds in the video above, you did that and it seemed to work pretty well. The issue seems to occur mostly when you are zoomed out a bit far.

I hope this helps!

Thanks,
