Broken DXF Profile

Hi,

I need to export a profile line to dxf from the face of a simple extruded tool. So I created the basic shape in a sketch, extruded and filleted the necessary  edges, created a new sketch from the top face and saved the new sketch as a dxf.

But this profile is not solid.

When opened with Rhino6, joined and then exported the lines are still not closed.

Eventually I had to export the lines to a 2007 polyline format dxf, but surely there is a easier way.

Please help

Kind Regards

  Johan

What did you extrude? Solid or Face?

But this profile is not solid.

Please help

I extruded the first 2d sketch into a 3d model, then filleted the edges then created a new sketch from the 3d model top face

Hi,

What do you mean when you write, "The lines are not closed"?
Are there gaps or does the line consist of several segments?
Multiple segments are generally normal and do not cause problems.
There is nothing in the screenshot to indicate errors.

Yes, I agree that nothing is wrong according to F360, but according to many
other cad/cam programs a unbroken tangent line is necessary. Thats why I
had to use a different program(Rhino6) to join the lines and export it to
the 2007 polyline dxf format.

So my origional question still stands, is there a way to directly export an
unbroken profile dxf from F360?

Hi,

As long as you do not share the object here, there is no way to analyze the contour.

Günther, it is not about whether the line is or is not tangent. I know it
is because I drew it. I want to export the profile line as a unbroken
continuous dxf. Do you know how or not?

Your process is correct for Fusion.

I do not get errors, but I use Autocad to open the dxf.

To get many profiles in one dxf file, use Dxfer from GitHub.

Try to change dxf viewer.

Might help....
