Break adaptivity between components

Hi kind helpers,

I'm transitioning from inventor to fusion 360 at the moment, and I'm wondering, is there any way to completely turn turn off adaptivity between components, breaking all (projected sketches) links between the two parts? In Inventor this was just 1 click ('make unadaptive'), but I can't find the option to completely break all links between two components.

Thanks!

The best way to break the projection (adaptivity) link between the component sketches is the remove the indicated check box.  You can still project the geometry, it just is not linked.

If you have already projected geometry and the link exist, use the method outlined in the Screencast to remove the adaptivity link.  After you do this be sure to add dimensions and/or sketch constrains to make your model stable.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this explanation!! Unfortunately it's not exactly what I was looking for as I already knew this concept. I'll explain my situation some more: I have a pretty complicated design already, and my PC is beginning to have a hard time handling it, I wanted to remove a specific feature in a part, which resulted in a lot of errors and moving geometry in another part. It would take me quite some time to find the exact sketch where the deleted geometry is being referenced (It wasn't the most logical relation to the deleted geometry), so I'd love to just completely turn the adaptivity between two components off, giving me the freedom to do some edits on the component without geometry jumping around in the other component. ( I understand that this wouldn't have been an issue If I had worked more organised and with more logical relations/projections)

I do not think that you will find a switch similar to the one you use in Inventor.  I to use Inventor and are familiar with what you are looking from in Fusion 360.  I am hoping that you are using the timeline history in Fusion 360, if so, located the desired features and sketches should be pretty straight forward.

I am familiar with it, yes, I'll just do it that way then, thanks again!
