Bottle Neck thread modelling - guidance and inputs

Hello Everyone,

I just made a design of a plastic bottle on fusion and modelled the threads- Neck finish and the cap. I have attached the data. Can anyone please review and suggest whether the work flow used is right and If you can suggest a better workflow for the same.

Also some advice and info on how to actually model threads based on standards would be really helpful.

Im planning to make  one (only the neck portion)  for 3d printing , once I know how to model it properly.

Thanks ,

Mufaddal

Looks good.

Two comments:

- Thread on bottle should be better RH

- Thread on cap needs to be concave instead of convex

Thank you @WHolzwarth  for your inputs

Regarding point 1 , by RH you mean - right handed?

Regarding point 2 , which area should be concave , can you please elaborate. Thanks.

Good evening, Mufaddal

I'm not the very best guy with F360, but I think, that I could get it with Inventor.

One way for turning your bottle LH thread to RH, can be mirroring this body. With Inventor I can mirror a body and delete the original, but this seems to be not available in F360. Perhaps a more knowledgeable user can show a way.

Thread in the cap: Look at the screenshot. The orange spots need to be cut away.
