Boolean cut not working (no error)

So, I'm trying to do a simple boolean cut between two bodies (that are on two different components).

The preview shows exactly what I wanted, and the cut reports no errors, but after the cut finishes, nothing has changed.

I made the same operation on a different body and it worked, so I don't understand what the problem is.

Maybe the problem is that I have used the second body (the one that is not being cut) for positioning the cut tool? Can be that?

nevermind, the problem was that, from a previous cut operation (probably accidental) , I left a combine operation on the other component (the one that contains the body being used as a cut tool. Deleting that boolean operation on the other component fixed the problem
