Hi Tom,

With the latest release you can by clicking the Parts List button in the tool bar.

Currently the BOM does require that the drawing be created of an assembly. This means that the items appearing in the BOM need to be converted to components, and be subcomponents of the assembly the drawing is created from.

In the images below, the design with bodies will not allow a BOM to be created, whereas that with the components will. The properties in the BOM can be altered by right clicking on the component in the browser tree shown below and modifying the Properties and Physical Material

Let me know what you think and if I can clarify anything.

Best,

Scott

I briefly played with this last week.  It appeared to me that the BOM does not reflect nested components, so only top level components are listed in the BOM.  So if I have a component that uses several fasenters components from McMaster Carr nested in it, then they are not listed in the BOM.  Is there a way to work around this?  Thanks.

Thanks for the note,

We are still developing support for nested components and unfortunately at this time the BOM will only display first level components of the referenced Assembly.

A current workaround would be to create a separate drawing for the Sub-assembly - I know this is non-optimal, but thank you for bringing it up, it really does help us work towards bringing higher demand features in sooner.

All the best,

Scott

Hi, i see this post is ~3yr old, is there any update to the issue of only being able to displaying the parts list of 1st level of "nested components"?

Unfortunately (for me) i try to keep my browser component listing in a neat organised way & as the parts list / BOM table will only display the 1st level components of the referenced assembly , i can't create a table in my drawings that show all components / sub-assemble parts. As a result i have 40 x bodies (for 1 component assembly) not showing up in my drawing BOM table (see attached screen grad of browser).
