Best workaround for replicating configurations?

I am trying to create parts and assemblies that have multiple configurations and since Fusion does not currently have this capability I was wondering if anyone had some advice on a good workaround?

My current process is to use a mix of selection sets and copies of the same file to create all of the variations I need. This is working for now but can be tedious to update and keep track of.

This can be done for parts as a workaround, but not for assemblies.

You create a component, activate it and then creat your sketch and extrud, revolve etc your shape.

This will create a sketch and a body.

Create a second empty component and compy/paste the body from the first component into the second component.

You can now add features to that body in the second component, which you want to be differnet from your first component.

However, if you edit the shetch you used for the original component in comonenbt #1, these chenges will alo apply to the body in component #2.

That is a great idea. I don't think I can apply it to everything that I am doing but this will help a lot!
