Best way to design a chair.

I am very much a novice to Fusion 360 and looking to draw a wooden chair to make in my furniture making course.

The idea is then to make the chair, using the drawing/CAD for each piece for size and shape/design.

Is it best to make each separate piece - i.e. each leg, armrest and connecting components and then join them together to make the design or do I draw the chair in 2D and then extrude to 3 D and split each component?

I see a few chair design videos on YT but am getting confused as hell when I go to make something different.

Have a read through the linked thread. This post has an example file with a table created from base sketches, extruded into a single body then split into components.
