Ball rolling down a cavity

I have a device that I modeled with a cavity, sort of spherical.

Inside of it is a small sphere that I'm trying to get it to roll, i have done motionlinks, contact sets and nothing seems to work, even when I rotate the model and let the ball simply go to the minima of the sphere it doesn't go with the model. I have done so many modifications that it's quite a mess.

can anyone help me figure out a way to get it roll?

Hi Javier,

What is the end goal you are aiming for? Do you just want to have an animated sequence to show how your design will function? or are you trying to test/simulate some physics related to your model?

Also do you mind sharing your model with me? You can send it to me in a Private Message if you don't want it to be available to the public on this forum. This article will show you how to share a downloadable file.

Javier,

I don't know if you figured this out already or have just become too busy to pursue this question so I will just post this article about how the animation environment in Fusion 360 works. I hope this helps. Feel free to respond when you can and I will do my best to follow up with you.

Regards,

Brent

File>Export and then Attach your *.f3d file here for the fastest help.

I looked at this last week, and realized that I would have to model the geometry to create a demonstration.

My apologize for the late response, there was some restructuring at work due to safety policies.

I'm trying to simulate physics; how gravity would cause the ball to roll. Since I'm going to be rotating the model I need the ball to roll and sit still when I stop rotating at specific angle.

Then create an animation based on that.

Thank you for your help.

I have attached my model, it might be a little messy since I deleted a few things by accident and didn't realize it.

Thank for your reply, Attached is the current model I was working on.

It might be a little messy, I apologize.

This is much too rough for me - I see unconstrained sketches and unresolved issues highlighted in the timeline.

In any case, I think that you would need Autodesk Inventor Professional with Dynamic Simulation to do this analysis - I don't think it is possible in Fusion 360.
