Autosave error, crashing and losing work

Anonymous
Not applicable

I was having errors stating that autosave was not able to do a save and I should save it manually for ever since I started using fusion 360. Since thes errors have not disapeared with the new version I ask for help.

These errors have happended again for multiple times today, usually after a longer time of use.

I looks and says that the path is not accessible anymore.

I don't know if the diagnostic log files are of any use, I attach them anyways.

What I also noticed is that when I tried once to open diagnostic logs they were not accessible as well.

My computer is on Win8.1

Hoping to get some help

Thanks for reaching out. Can you reproduce the issue and attached a screenshot to what error message you are seeing as well?

The errors are not related to any command or action, it seams to come randomly.

This one came after 10 min. of use and opening a second sketch.

It tells me that it can not open because of corruption, from then on I can not save the previously opened file anymore.

Sometimes the application locks, some time you can keep working on it - but you are not able to save the work anymore.

If you close the application it closes in an unusual way displaying some of the boxes (browser, activity, sketch pallete) over the desktop.

A restart of the application restores all functionality.

Maybe you have any Idea in wich direction to search for the error?

It froze (crashed) again.

This time on trying to open a new design (File/New Design).

Here is how the desktop looks while closing the frozen Fusion 360.

To be exact: I was able to open the new design, then I wanted to save it under a new name. Then it froze.

Your issue may be closely related to this: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-and-documentation/file-corruption-fix-coming/td-p/5692261

Check again after you get this update tonight and see if the issue still remains.
