Auto Trace System

Hey everyone,

I was trying out Fusion 360 to see if I should transition over from Solidworks. The tool I use for my work and for my friends was an autotrace feature. I have been looking around Fusion 360 and I can't seem to find this feature. Is this option available on Fusion or would I have to sketch by using splines.

Thank you

Dan

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to Fusion 360.

I'm not quite sure what do you mean by "Auto Trace", but if you could describe or create a screencast of what is it you are trying to do, it will be much easier to help you.

Cheers / Ben

Is the auto-trace converting bitmap boundary to curves? We do not have the feature. Probably you can use some other applications to convert the bitmap to svg file and import the svg to the sketch.

Apologies to the late message. I have linked a video from youtube from someone using the autotrace system on Solidworks. Tried to cast of my PC but it crashes my entire system.

I could do a conversion from solidworks and convert it to .svg then .svg to sketch from what someone else has mentioned. But I wanted to do all off the work on autodesk instead of relying on solidworks as well.

Thank you

Use Inkscape to make your SVG, it's very fast and very easy and you will have complete control over accuracy and look. Best of all Inkscape is free.

I can make a video if you need one.

I don't know about anyone else, but if you don't mind I would love to see a video of how you do that.

Thanks!
