Attach component body point to a sketch point

I have imported a component (a separate Fusion 360 design) and I want to align it to a sketch 'point'. In addition, I want to keep it aligned if I move the sketch point (change a dimension in the sketch).

 

I can use the 'Move' command manually, to position the imported component, but when I change the sketch (dimension is driven by a parameter), the component stays in its previous location.

 

I have tried a few things, but I have failed in getting the imported component to follow the location of the sketch point.

(Please note, that since it is an imported component (and therefore could change) I'm not modifying the underlying component sketch).

I want the center-point of this axle-wheel component to be tied to the point on the sketch.

Do not use Move.

Use a normal Joint, will work as expected.

You did not attach your model so I will demonstrate the process using one of mine.  @davebYYPCU has already mentioned this, my Screencast will show you the process.  Attach your model if you need help with it.

From your original post, I was not sure which axle you wanted hooded to a point, but my process will work with either.  Remember, if the component you hook to the point, is joined to other components, they will move also.  One thing is crucial for this to work, the point must be in a top level sketch, which I emphasis in the Screencast.  I am not returning your model since it has linked components and I am not sure you know how to handle it.

That is EXCELLENT! Thank you so much!!! I will need to move my wheelbase sketch to be top-level, but that isn't a problem. I learned a few great things from your going through this.

The one thing that I found that I needed to do (didn't notice it in your video), was change the selection filter to 'Joint Origin'. Otherwise, it kept trying to pick the center of the axle, and the axle would rotate 90°. I also decided to add a Joint Origin to the sketch point that I wanted to attach to axle to. I'm not sure that was necessary, but it made it more clear to me, and it made it so I could pick everything with the selection filter set to just 'Joint Origin'.

You can avoid changing your Selection Filters, in the majority of cases, where you are having problems selecting the right entity by using the Selection Box.  If you place your cursor over the Joint Origin and hold down the left button, on your mouse, you will get the selection box where you can simply go down the list to select the entity you want.  Remember this works is lots of other cases and will show everything under your cursor in the list.  Try it to select a face for a new sketch on the back side of your model so you do not have to turn the model around.  This is just a couple of the uses of the Left Click hold function of the mouse.
