I am finshed my most resent modle which in includes the assembly of smaller assemblies. Now that I am in the drawing protion of my design I am unable to label the smaller assemblies with balloons. I was wondering if there is a way to do this action.

Welcome to Fusion 360 Community!

Are you receiving the below error message by any chance? If so, you will need to go back to your design and create components from bodies.

If this is not the case, would you be able to share your design or at least a screenshot so that I can take a deeper look at the issue?

Hi there, I think I am having the same problem as the OP.

I have an drawing of an assembly made up of 13 components and 1 sub-assembly (itself made of 3 components).  When I add balloons to the assembly, it adds correct numbering and balloons to the components, however when I go to add a balloon to the sub-assembly, it adds to balloon to one of its the components rather then the whole sub-assembly (and adds a number like 17, even though there are only 14 parts to the assembly).  I have added a BOM table and it numbers the sub-assembly correctly (the sub-assembly is listed as item 13), however I cannot get a balloon working for it.  I have a multi-sheet drawing and the sub-assembly is on it own sheet with its own balloons and BOM table, which is what I also want.  Has adding this affected the assembly part of the drawing? Is there a work around available so I can put a number 13 balloon on my assembly drawing?

Hi,

I believe your requirement can be achieved with the latest Fusion build.

1. Select all assemblies to be in one sheet: all components will be in the parts list, components in the subassembly will not be in the parts list. If you choose a subassembly's component to add balloon, the balloon number should be just that subassembly's. It should be 13 in your example.

2. Select the subassembly to be in another sheet: all components in that subassembly should be in the parts list. If you add balloons to those components in the subassembly, they should be 14,15, 16 in your example. You can renumber them as 1,2,3 in that sheet, which will not affect balloon numbers in other sheets.

It seems that your assembly has some issues. Can you share it to me so that I can have a look?(nick.ni@autodesk) - You can Open Details on Web and share it from the web.

Thank you
