Hi,

 

Is it possible to have a cylindrical component follow a curved guide in Fusion 360 other than using contact sets? See attached screenshot.

 

Thankful for any answers.

you can try it with contact sets.  If your overall design is more complex than in that image, though, it is probably not going to work all that well - contact sets is very slow to compute.

 

Outside of contact sets, there is no great way to define this motion currently.  We are working on a solution that will help with this kind of joint, but unfortunately, it is not yet available.

That will not create a motion of that small wheel along the curve/

A planar-motion joint with contact sets enabled worked fine for my application. I just needed to simulate the motion of a tilting gate for my Roomba garage project.
