Assembly Confusion

Hi all!

I am new to Fusion 360, and do not yet understand assemblies. I have 2 separate files for a rocket body and nose cone. Is it possible to combine these in an assembly to preview how it would look 3d printed?

Thanks!

Try clicking learn at the top of the screen and work through the examples. Then look here

And yes you can build an assembly once you have the basics.

Here's one way using the dxf files.

If the dxf files were created in Fusion 360, then you could have just inserted one of the 3d models into the other file.

As far as printing them, you can create individual STLs from each component.  There is no need for separate files, however, depending on the model, it may make more sense to use separate components.  The choice is yours and it doesn't depend on how to print them.
