applying a filet or round over to a short length of an edge

I'm trying to place a filet or round over to a short length of the square edge of a longer part. The filet tool doesn't seem to have this capability. Can anyone tell me how to put a 3.5" long round over at one end of a 35.25" long edge?

depending on what you want the results to be, there are two approaches.  If you want a blended fillet, you can use a Variable Radius Fillet:

If you want a more abrupt transition, you will have to split the body:

Fillet the part you want:

Then, Combine it back together:

As @jeff_strater said, start off with two different bodies. One being 3.5" long and the other being 31.75" long. Fillet the 3.5" long body, then combine the two bodies.

Or if starting from scratch, you can draw the first body 3.5" long and apply the fillet, then draw the next sketch for the second body off the first body and extrude/join.

This is a little bit more of a tedious work around, but if you know the radius of your fillet, you could start a sketch on the face you want to fillet and draw a line in and down from the edge of top edge of the face and draw a circle and extrude the face that's to the outer left of the circle. I have a screencast attached because I know I probably didn't explain that well and it is easier to show.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I think the blended filet will work best in this situation.
