  • Is the door completely closed on the discussion to give us the option for Cloud Storage as SECONDARY backup, local storage by default? This would almost completely bypass any inconvenience tied to an interruption in Cloud Services, as we’ve seen several times over the course of the year. Perhaps make it a feature of Fusion Ultimate? I’m not talking doing away with Cloud Storage, just make it redundant backup. Definitely useful, but more in a “safety net” role

Hi gearsoup,

Fusion 360 is primarly - Cloud oriented software. But it doesn't mean, that you can't work primarely with the local storage.

You can switch into the Offline mode and stay there for 2 weeks. Right now in this mode we have some limitations like .. you need to open all documents from your Cloud storage before entering into the Offline or you can't create Folders.

The sesond option is to use a loop ... create Design document -> export it as a f3d file localy -> create new Design from file -> select f3d created before ... only pronlem is, that you need to save this document again and again .. I mean create new name.

So generaly our strategy is still the same ... Cloud storage is default and local storage is as an backup.

Regards

 Roman

This is why our IT department won't let us install F360. Regardless if it's an old fashioned way of business or not, they have the controls on this, not the engineers.

Love using it at home for personal projects though.

Hi @Anonymous

For individual users Fusion data is stored in your own A360 hub found at https://myhub.autodesk360.com. However for companies, there is also a choice of a centrally administered team hub where the end users don't control data but the company admin does. Would this be a solution for your IT admins?

Thanks,

Bankim

that would be a great solution for many of my customers... nearly every big company is asking for that more secure solution 😉
Can you make a video about it to share it here and upload it to the F360 youtube channel ?
