animating opacity

Is ther a way to animate the opacity of an object? I do not want to completely hide the object only make it translucent.  I would like to show a PCB that lies under a cap.

@sdoehler, unfortunately we don't support this yet. You may post a requirement in Idea Station, if many people like the idea and get many votes, this idea would be able to be selected and implemented.

What I do is:

1. create copy of component that you want to change the opacity, change the appearance to glass, and change the visibility to hide.

2. Right at the time you want to change the opacity, hide the main component and show the copy.
