Animating Joint Animations

Greetings!

Part of a project required me to figure out a suitable Gear Ratio which I managed to get confirmed in F360 after animating them with Joints and Motion Links... The original design had the motor shaft directly connected to a turret which would cause troubles with a cable loom so I reworked the design, using the same motor, with an outside driven gearbox freeing up the center for more than just 720° of rotation while still maintaining a 1:1 Motor to Turret RPM Ratio.

My current issue though lies with the F360 Animation System itself:

  1. How does one animate an assembly?
In the YouTube Videos I've watched to get this going people kept dragging their cursors above the parts and they started moving - All it does for me is selecting surfaces.
  2. Can the default animation speed be adjusted? If so, how?

Thanks in Advance! 😃

Hey durahl,

Animation is generally meant for explosions and fly-arounds. For joint animation, it's best to use a motion study. Here's a good tutorial:
