Animate from Joints?

Hey folks, I am trying to do an animation of my design.  In the design window, I can move the joints as expected.  What I am struggling to understand is why can't I move those joints in the animation window the same way?  Why do I have to do a transform?  With the transform, it just basically moves it, but it does not moved joined parts.  For example, when I move the bottom drawer in animation, it does not move the drawer sliders along with it like it does in the design window.

Is there something I am missing?

I appreciate the insights!

I am sorry to say that Assembly Joints DO NOT transfer to the Animation Workspace.  In fact, there are no assembly joints at all in the animation workspace.

Edit: You can select multiple components and animate them as a group.

@mike_kenzie

Are you a student?

If yes, I can suggest other Autodesk software (Autodesk Inventor Professional) that has this functionality and is free to students.

Thanks for the suggestion, I am not a student.  It is not a huge deal, the animations I am looking for won't take but 10 min to create, it just seems like it should be just as easy in animation workspace as it is in design to animate the design.  I am still learning the product and just wanting to make sure I am using it as appropriately as I can.

Thanks again!
