Alternate drawing software

Hello, 

I anyone using an external drawing software to make their drawings? I have had enough of fusions drawing capability so am looking to export my models to a better package for drawings. Any suggestions? Free would be nice.

You could try FreeCAD. I've no idea whether it's any better than Fusion 360 or have the features you require but it is free.

I used solidworks for modeling and drawing. In staring fusion 360 I face same problem here, but i snuggest you to exporter more fusion360s' drawing.  anyway you find more futures in solidworks; futures like automatic dimensions.

I'm lucky enough to have SolidWorks supplied to me by my employer and its drafting is indeed far better than Fusion's. However, it also costs several thousand dollars (as well as requiring annual maintenance payments if you want to keep up to date). I think @tonySWCR2 is on a budget and is looking for something nearer to zero cost if possible, hence his 'Free would be nice' comment!

Thank you for your replies. 

Currently working in a start up and Solidworks does offer an option that is free for 1 year for that. I have used SW before at University so know it well, unfortunately they are really lacking in the cloud based storage (we dont have our own server).

For now I am trialling Onshape, the drawing capability seems far superior but I have not used it in anger yet. The capability of the 3D modelling also seems quite good, might move completely to this software.

Hi @tonySWCR2  - I'm sorry to hear Fusion drawings in its current state isn't meeting your needs. We recognize there's lots of room for improvement in the workspace and are working hard to get the necessary features and improvements added. Ironically that first link gives me an error page "bad request".

Happy to have a call. There are a lot of advantages to Fusion 360 however I feel there are some fundamentals that have been forgotten that make it very difficult to make a business case for, the biggest of these being that the drawings are close to unusable for someone creating multiple drawings in a week.

Hi @tonySWCR2 - Nooo. Worst timing for a faulty link. The Bookings tool doesn't seem to play nicely with the link embedding on the forums. I'll dm you - hoping we can schedule a call and we can go through specifically which missing fundamentals in drawings are forcing your hand here. Thanks!
