Align Tspline VERT to another Vert or another object

Hi, hope someone can help....

When in edit body, vertex filter.... how do you move vertexes to the left so they line up perfectly with other vertexes or with other geometry?  (see  pic)

(I tried object snap and it DOES line up when moving to the left, but it skews or distorts the verts in the other axis.)

Thanks in advance!

You can weld vertices together in the Sculpt workspace.

Thanks for the response!

I knew about the welding. I'm really trying to align the verts to another piece of geometry. In this case I want to align these verts to an stp file that I imported. Is there a way to do that?

Can I ask what you are trying to accomplish by that ?

Aligning the vertices of a T-Spline aligns the vertices  the control cage. The rounded form of the resulting T-Spline will not be aligned with that other shape, unless it is all creased.

In that case using a T-Spline really is not the wisest choice.

This would only be useful in certain circumstances, but I use it all the time. I'm coming from CATIA's Imagine and shape module, where I can do this. Here's a description of what I end to do:

Line up a crisp edge to another geometry such as an import stp file. This is useful to me so I can get exact spacing. Later if the underlying piece grows in size, I can just re-snap to the new size. (this is only usefull if part of the object is crisp and the other part is sculptural

Let me know if this is what you are wanting to do:

Did you just make that video? Thank you! That is very generous!

That is the same workflow that I was doing, and that weird warping and moving of the verts is the exact same problem I'm getting. I just want to slide them straight over horizontally, without the verts moving up or down. very frustrating.

Hey I found something that is somewhat usable.

When in edit t-spline body....

1. create->extrude->

2. pick the faces you want to align

3. move them a little in the direction you want.

4. click on the surface you want to align to.

I'll have to go back and delete unwanted edges, but at least this is a way to perfectly align verts/faces.

Thanks again for the help!
