Hi there can you tell me if you can add layering in fusion 360 so I can draw a floor plan of my house and add a layer for things like windows and doors which can be turn on/off. I hope youcan understand my question.

Hi,

You don't need layers for that.
For each feature you create a sketch on its own plane.
For the floor plan e.g. on XY, 1st floor > offset from xy, doors on X or Y / Z etc.

The individual sketches are activated as needed.

There are no 2D layers in Fusion 360.

Treat each sketch as a layer if you need them.

Might help.....

I assume @mathewbutterfield is used to AutoCAD. There you can assign any sketch element to a layer and also give it a colour. So you can show and hide them, for example, which is necessary when working with AutoCAD.
@mathewbutterfield  Fusion works quite differently, you don't need layers.
