Adding Draft To A Cast Channel (Hole)

Hello Again,

I am designing a "block" with an internal channel (see attachment), which would be cast in plastic.  In order to pull the tool out correctly, I would need to add some draft to this tube.  I can do a nice sweep at a set diameter along the internal path, but it does not have draft.

Is there a good way to do this?

Thanks,

Dave

It's possible but requires some construction geometry.

  • First I put Plane on Path for each direction of travel inside the cube.
  • Then I put Axis at intersection of 2 Planes to capture the axis.
  • Then I put Plane at Angle using this Axis. The angle is halfway between the two planes at the intersection.
  • This allowed me to extrude with draft to the "mid plane", and then Loft to a new circle sketched onto the bottom.

Sorry no time for a Screencast of this today.

Cool. This works. Had to play around to find the correct axis and planes, but it works well. Thank you very much.
