Adding canvas: Calibrate sizing not correct

When I add a canvas to a basic sketch so that I can trace and get a more accurate design, I import the canvas and then I go in calibrate the size based on a true measurement. Notice a few of the pictures that I'm attaching, I show me calibrating the width of the Apple mouse and that's fine but when I go and double check it against the length, it is completely wrong. What am I doing wrong here? The length should be 114 mm and the width 57 mm. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Note that I am taking the picture with my iPhone. Also that I have tried this on multiple objects and the calibrate feature still doesn't work correctly.

Hi,

I opened it in an image editing program and saved it as a PNG without editing it.
In my experience, the cause is that the image is missing data, which leads to the wrong format when imported.

Based on the file you attached, it looks like Fusion imported the image at the wrong aspect ratio, causing it to be "squashed", even though the scaling is set to 1.0 in both X and Y. Calibrating the canvas size will not fix this.

I ran into this issue in the past as well. The solution, as @g-andresen stated, is to save the image as a different format and try again.

1. No editing will be done.

2. The image can be saved in the same format (here jpg) or as png.

Thanks @g-andresen , good to know. In the past I had to save as a different format, but I was just able to re-save this one as .jpg as well and it worked.
