Hello all,
A question submitted to the sagacity of the eminent members of this no less eminent assembly itself 🙂
When I use the elasticity of a material for a mechanical assembly - typically a clipping of two plastic parts - I design the parts with their "relaxed" shapes so that I can then rely on their natural elasticity (whether for the resin or injection molding).
So these "loose" shapes interpenetrate when put together in Fusion 360.
This way of doing things works, but it is not satisfactory insofar as the renderings of the assemblies obviously show this interpenetration.
So I tell myself that there is certainly another way to do it much better than mine, but I have not found anything on the subject (and I do not know what to look for elsewhere, what terms, what names of techniques , etc.)
How do professionals in the profession deal with this kind of problem?
Wouldn't there be a feature that would have escaped me, and which would allow to design a part by representing it in two states: a static state with the form of part to be molded, and the other state under tension in place in its assembly?
