A little help with sheet metal component

Still rather new to F360, and especially the sheet metal approach.

I'm drawing up a firepit to be laser cut in 3mm steel.

Everything seems to be going OK so far, but I'd like the leg that I've just created to come off from the main body at an angle. At the moment its created by using a sketch of two lines at 90 degrees to each other, and I was pleased that F360 made a bent piece of metal to fit the profile using the flange tool, but I can't see a way of extruding this leg at anything other that 90 degrees from the base plate.

I'm keen to learn how to do this 'properly' - what would be the best way to do this?

Next step is to add tabs and slots to hold the legs in place while they are welded. Any tips on how to do this also appreciated!

Don't know if I can tell you how to do it 'properly' but i'll have a stab at it! Bear in mind i'm a beginner as well so take this with a pinch of salt!

If i've understood correctly you're looking for something like this? https://a360.co/2kXfYvU

Go back to the model workspace, rotate the leg to the angle you desire, use the xz plane to cut the body at the top and an offset plane from the bottom to cut the leg flush at the bottom. (It will still unfold in the sheet metal enviroment)

Then for an easy life use a circular pattern about the y axis to make the rest of the legs.

Hope this helps,

Sean

Yes! That's exactly what I wanted, but I may go with three legs instead.

Thanks so much for your help.

Glad I could help, three legs sounds a lot prettier to me!

Good luck with the tabs.
