3D Spacemouse support in Drawings.

After a 2D drawing has been generated and open the file to edit/place dimensions the 3D mouse doesn't allow native pan or zoom which is a pest given the excellent support for it in other workspaces. Pan works with the standard mouse scroll wheel but have to use the Pan icon at the screen bottom.

Would be great if 3D mouse support was added.

Hi @iancLTBFX

We are planning an integration with 3D connexion devices for the 2D drawings environment.

I've added it to the public roadmap, have a look under"Usability". At this point, it is still in the backlog (shown by the grey colour). What I can share, is that feature is on our medium to longer-term priorities. Keep checking back, the roadmap is updated after each release, as soon as we start work on it, the status colour will change.

Clint,

Thanks for the response. Good to know it's coming.

We use the Fusion 360 ios app on an iPad when machining for 2D drawings to get dimensions. It's easier to navigate around the drawing on an iPad with fingers than it is on a PC.

Hi @ClintBrown3D has there been any progress on this? I can't find any reference to spacemouse or 3dconnexion on the current drawing roadmap (assuming this one I have access to is the latest version https://app.mural.co/t/autodesk2145/m/timerahart2/1475171276107/0945259b7c22117012173ea2be3c9151fec1...)

Hi @jordan783ZS

The old Mural roadmap has now been retired. We publish general Fusion roadmap updates on the Fusion blog (usually every 6 months or so)

Regarding 3D Connexion support, this is something that we were keen to do. I have raised with 3D Connexion, but their SDK's do not yet support our 2D drawings environment, so we can't integrate it at this point.

Ah, that's a shame, I quite liked keeping an eye on the drawing roadmap to see what was potentially in the pipeline.

Glad to hear there is still interest in the team, sorry to hear 3Dconnexion isn't at that point yet.

Thanks

I also noticed the support for zooming and panning in the drawing environment is subpar at the current time.  Any update to this?

@geoffbern While supporting 3Dconnextion space mouse remains a priority on our roadmap, we've encountered some technical complexities that require additional efforts. We understand this delay may affect your navigation experience and productivity. We're committed to keeping you updated with more specific timelines as our development progresses.
