Notice: Javascript API is being fully retired

We actually announced the end of support for the Javascript API a couple of years ago and haven’t been updating it or publishing the documentation.  Without going into all of the details, it just wasn’t a long term solution that was going to work for the Fusion 360 desktop client.  That said if you had any scripts or add-ins written in the old javascript API they have continued to run in a kind of maintenance mode. 

Please note that as of the December release of Fusion 360 they will no longer run at all. 

We are making some big enhancements to the browser components that power things like Palettes, and it is no longer feasible for us to continue to support the old javascript interpreter we were using for that API.  

There are a number of exciting things coming down the API pipeline and please know we are fully committed to the long term extensibility of Fusion 360 platform.  As always we are so excited to see what you will make.  

If there is anyone out there still using the legacy javascript API who needs help migrating to Python or C++ please let me know and I will see what I can do to help get you moving in the right direction.

Still hoping for a Swift API (which would be easy with a C API) 😉
