Is there any way to change the colour properties of UI Toolbars, Buttons etc.

Hello,

Is there a way through the API to change the background colour and other colour properties used to render the various UI components.

e.g. Toolbars, Buttons, Text / Labels etc.

I've just looked at the API for the Toolbar object (and tried to find other sources of info) and there doesn't seem to be anything colour related).

I really hope something as simple as changing UI component colours has been exposed by the API.

I think my response to your other question should have also answered this one.  I think the best thing here is to put together why you want other colors and what the ideal colors would be and then we can talk to people that determine what the Fusion 360 UI is going to look like.  But the API does not currently provide a way to do this.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for getting back to me on this.

The problem that I thought I could try and solve via the API is this troublesome flaw:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/critical-visual-accessiblity-ui-flaw-needs-urgent-...

... which has caused me a significant amount of grief, and from looking through the forums and ideas submitted is causing problems with other people who need a the UI to conform to their accessibility needs.

Surprised to hear that Fusion 360 is using QT as all other apps that I run under Windows developed with QT play along very nicely with the Windows colour / theme settings.

Applications on Windows should honour the centrally set colour theme (especially if an accessible high-contrast theme has been selected)

Since the API doesn't expose the UI colour properties I'm needing to tweak for visual accessibility purposes, is there another way I can tweak UI colours under the hood?

i.e. tweak windows registry settings, config files, hack some C++ code, hang ... even replace / patch DLLs!!! - I'm that desperate.

Thanks in advance

Glen

Thanks

Glen
