Grounding and as built joint fails when occurrence is in sub component

Hi, I encountered an interesting problem with grounding, tried using as built joint but it fails in the same way.

I am creating new occurrences and grounding them. When they are created in root component everything works fine.

However if I am creating new occurrences in sub-assembly the grounding fails, Fusion last error: 3 isGrounded property is not available for the occurence of a sub component.

Interestingly I can ground using UI, but not API. Is there a reason for this? Maybe a workaround?
