Replace external components

I'm involved in the project that requires frequent use of external components.

The replace external components feature is perfect for this application. 

I can't find anything about it in the API documentation. Do you know if this is possible to automate this feature?

It is probably not provided by the API.

@kandennti is correct. The API support for external components is not complete and this is one of the things that is missing.  Hopefully, it will be addressed soon, but I don't know.

There is functionality related to my previous question in the last update: Add an API to access Replace Component functionality (Customer Reported Fixes). Could you provide any documentation?
