I use the "default measure" (as it is called in the General preferences) all the time to do quick measurements of things.
The problem is that it is almost ALWAYS the same color or a non-contrasting color of the solid behind it and I have to zoom all the way out to the (darker) viewport background to be able to see it.
Making this auto-contrast or color-selectable needs to happen. This seems like a simple thing to change that would make this SO much more friendly to use.
