CAM API

Hi I was wondering if it's possible to enter stock size etc  with the API?  Thanks !

The first release (Phase 1) of the CAM API (slated for the January release) will support generating toolpaths, posting NC files and generating setup sheets for existing operations..  Support for editing parameters of existing operations (such as stock size) is planned for Phase 2.

CAM API Phase 2 definition is a work in progress.  Our goal is to keep the ball rolling and incrementally improve and expand CAM API coverage each release subsequent to the phase one release slated for January.  The ability to edit parameters is very high on my list of priorities so i'm hoping to see it in the first post January release.  Any input and requests from users such as yourself, are greatly valued, as we want our phasing to be in tune with what people are asking for and actually need.

Are we getting any closer to phase 2? The ability to create and edit CAM operations would be incredibly useful. I see in another thread only two weeks ago that the person suggesting the ability to edit the geometry selection list was told to post on IdeaStation, which makes me pessimistic any of this is coming soon. Please tell me I'm wrong.

I'm sorry to tell you that it is not coming soon and don't know the timeframe when it might be available.  The best thing to do is to demonstrate to the product managers that it's functionality that a lot of people are interested in by voting on the request in the IdeaStation.  Unfortunately, the current posting asking for this functionality only has 1 vote (mine).  If any of you are interested in this please vote.  https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-ideastation-request-a/extension-of-cam-api/idi-p/7195576
